This page describes the IBM SMS card "BV", and is part of the SMS card database.

Function of the card:
Alloy - Prolay Pulse (One Half)

Germanium alloy transistors were an early type of transistor, faster than the earlier grown-junction transistors.

Part number: 371445

Used in: 7030, IBM 729, IBM 7090

Cap code: None (details)

Symbol: SS

SS: Single Shot. Provides a monostable output which can be pulsed into its quasi-stable state for a predetermined duration. with each input triggering pulse or triggering voltage change. Once triggered, the output pulse duration becomes independent of input time duration or amplitude.
